From the Author
Welcome! I'm so glad you've found your way here. The idea for this story, The Hypocritical Oath, had been swirling in my mind for over fifty years. It took Tim Horvath to bring it onto the pages of a book. He provided the insight and editorial expertise that transformed it from ideas to drafts, and finally, to a finished product.
Grateful thanks also go to Nathan Wampler for the cover design and to Jonathan Baker for copy editing the manuscript.
A special thanks goes to Thomas Benigno and Dana Marie Benigno. Tom, the author of four legal crime thrillers and a trusted friend, encouraged me to push through the writing and publishing process. Dana Marie lent a critical eye and elevated the final result.
Thanks as well to Randy Goldberg, Patricia Fusco, and Dr. Paul Wien for reading along the way and offering valuable insight into story development. And to Michelle Griffith—athlete, lawyer, FBI agent, and muse.
Finally, to my father, the late Leslie Lukash, MD, former Chief Medical Examiner of Nassau County, NY—for the immeasurable influence he had on my life.
Again, thank you. I hope this story resonates with you, keeps you turning the pages, and stays with you long after the final chapter.
